Ctrl + S : Tell us about yourself!
Annie O’Brien :
My name is Annie O’Brien and I am from Mentor, Ohio. If you need to find me I'll either be in the
hotshop dancing, blowing glass, singing or even all three. I enjoy making work to bring notice to the
constant conflicts and struggles women go through in a light of performance. I make glass pieces,
woodwork, and use photography to convey my concepts.
Ctrl + S : What are some of the motivations for your piece?
AOB : The work I create is about women empowerment and noticing the issues that still stand today with misogyny. My intentions are to make people talk and communicate their feelings. I want the viewer to reflect on themselves and understand what positions they take in society.

Ctrl + S : What is your process like?
AOB : I like to work with everyone and surround myself with people with different skills to learn from. Community is very important to me and I find myself needing it even more with glass. I find a lot of my inspiration from the women in my life who have been rock stars, dance, music, singing, acting, the 1920’s, clowns, and more performance based art. My biggest inspiration is Morgan Peterson (glass artist), Austin Stern (glass artist), Benjamin Johnson (glass artist/professor), and all of the badass women around the world.

Ctrl + S : Any general goals for yourself and/or your art?
AOB : In the next few years I will travel and inspire women and people around the world with my work.
